Kevin Durant's Back Tattoo Has A Misspelled Word In It

Kevin Durant finally got around to finishing the massive back tattoo that he's been adding to over the years, and he posted a picture of a the finished product to his Instagram page. Impressive! But, um, that's not how you spell "mature."

As friend of Deadspin Sarah Kogod points out, it sure looks like the "t" and the "u" are transposed in what is supposed to be "mature" at the start of the last visible line of the Bible verse adorning Durant's back, instead spelling "mautre." That's just...oof.

For the record, here's what the verse, from James 1:2-4, is supposed to say:

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

I'm not sure how that wisdom can be applied to discovering that your elaborate back tattoo has a typo in it, but I'm sure Durant will find a way.
