Prosecutors And Defense Argue Over Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's Middle Finger

At today’s death penalty trial of noted bad person Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, prosecutors presented a video to jurors showing the Boston Marathon bomber flipping off the camera while he was in a holding cell on July 10, 2013.

The full video reportedly showed Tsarnaev adjusting his hair, making a “V” with his index and middle fingers, then giving the bird to the camera, according to the Boston Globe. The prosecutor entered the footage as evidence that Tsarnaev had no remorse for what he did.

Tsarnaev’s defense tried to argue the middle finger, but was unsuccessful. From the Globe:

During cross-examination, defense attorney Miriam Conrad called the gesture a “V sign.” Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. ordered her not to describe Tsarnaev’s actions, ruling that the video spoke for itself.
