Vice Sports has a nice post today by Wendy Thurm, a friend of the program, about growing up in the 70s and going to Islanders games at the Coliseum. It catches just enough daylight to tell you how much communication, infrastructure, and the basic day-to-days of getting out to see a game can change in the time it takes an arena to go from brand new to losing its tenants and looking ready to move onto the traveling military expo circuit. Give it a read.
