Riley Curry's Playhouse Is Nicer Than My Adult House

Riley Curry, who, as far as we know, has never blown a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals, is the proud owner of a new home complete with a horsey theme and a built-in ball pit.

The Curry family was the first family to be featured on a new TLC program called Playhouse Masters. I was not aware there was a market for luxury playhouses, but I will silently nod in recognition of their existence anyway.

Anyway, Riley and her sister Ryan now own a tiny loft home that would cost somewhere around $500,000 in Manhattan—and it’s in their own backyard. (The Currys almost certainly got the house for free in order for the show to get launch publicity.)

There is an argument to be made that Riley and Ryan Curry are probably spoiled, and that a home of this caliber makes that all the more obvious. But that take is obvious and is kind of boring.

Hear me out: A munchkin-sized playhouse should be an American right for every parent with enough space in the backyard to host one. Why the over-indulgence? Because it gets your kid to go the hell away for a while. When Riley gets to be like, seven years old and no longer wants to watch Daddy replay the 2016 NBA Finals Game 6 DVD, she can go out into her Swiss chalet loft and everyone can have some alone time.

Anyway, let’s look at this thing!

Not bad, Riley. I hope to own a home as nice as yours in 7-10 years.
