Anna Benson Gets 15 Years' Probation For Storming Kris's Home With Gun

OK, so this time the Kris and Anna Benson saga at last appears to have reached its sad conclusion.

Anna Benson today pleaded guilty to reduced charges in connection with a July incident in which she showed up at Kris's house with a gun, a knife, a metal baton, and a bulletproof vest because she said the ex-MLB pitcher "kept fucking my friends, in my house."

Anna Benson sighed loudly in a Smyrna, Ga., courtroom just before entering her plea. She faced a maximum of 25 years in prison and a fine of $200,000 if convicted on all five initial charges. But by agreeing to plead guilty to aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, she instead was sentenced to 15 years' probation and will be enrolled in programs for psychiatric and substance abuse.

From the Fox Sports South report:

The defense said Anna was unaware that her estranged husband would be at the house — "She did not go there with intent," Benson's attorney Ashleigh Merchant said.

So does that mean Anna walks around with an arsenal of weapons all the time, or just that one time she happened to go barging into Kris's home? What a coincidence!

Anna will also be subject to a restraining order that states she must remain 500 yards from Kris and prohibits her from entering the subdivision in which he lives. She cannot contact Kris until after the inpatient portion of her treatment is completed, and her visitation rights with the couple's four children will be subject to the divorce settlement they began negotiating last year.
