The Rockies beat the Marlins 5-4 on a walk-off single in the 13th inning Saturday and the only reason it wasn't an inning earlier is because of this play. With two outs and men on the corners, Justin Morneau hit a flare out into no man's land between second base and left-center field. Adeiny Hechavarria turned his back and just ran that sucker down with a great, leaping catch.
Hechavarria actually gave Miami a brief 4-3 lead in the ninth inning with a single, only to be undone by a monster home run from Corey Dickerson in the home half of the inning. Dickerson smoked a 3-1 sinker off Steve Cishek into the third deck in Coors and sent the game to extra innings.
Before Dickerson's blast there had only been 32 home runs hit into the third deck at Coors, so even for Coors, that's pretty impressive.
"I've done it a couple of times in (batting practice) and just joking around they tell me to do it in a game," Dickerson said. "I got a good pitch and put a pretty good swing on it."
Dickerson also hit the game-winner in the 13th inning with With Nolan Arenado on second base. Giancarlo Stanton could at least make a play on this one, instead of just watching the ball soar over his head, but Arenado was able to beat his throw home.
