serious question: what’s my call to action here? i’m just as guilty as simmons or the president in not truly understanding the importance of equality until the birth of our daughter and i’ve said many things that inspired the thinkpieces you cited in this post. Read more

I have not done this but I cannot picture ever proposing (or being proposed to) without having many conversations, over a length of time, that basically go “should we get married?” Read more

I agree, his fear-based aggression is a long standing character flaw and I’ve reminded him that it’s not acceptable in this day and age. We work on it frequently but I fear it may always be an issue. Read more

It’s opposite writing. Great writing tells you what happens and lets you infer how people feel. These examples tell you exactly how you should feel and forces you to guess what happened. People keep getting married at older ages, and divorce keeps going down. Basically, the author of the original piece just went off his feels instead of the truth. Read more

Millennials are over-educated and under-skilled for the types of jobs that don’t exist anymore. The disconnect is older people think those jobs that were around when they grew up are exactly the same. They are either gone or have changed dramatically. Read more
