There is literally no other event on the planet where security would treat you that way for ducking a rope near a putting green. Also, all PGA Tour events and the other majors allow media inside the ropes, so it wouldn’t even be an issue. Isn’t there a sense that a rising tide lifts all boats? In a perfect world, sure, the PGA Tour would have a major, but I can’t imagine that a really exciting Masters has anything but a positive effect on Players Championship ratings a month later. At least for the opening rounds.
