Baseball Blogger/Waitress Claims Melky Cabrera Left Her A Shitty Tip

Getting away with bad tips is harder and harder with the prevalence of smartphones. One way to guarantee you won't get away with it as a baseball player is by leaving a bad tip for a baseball blogger.

Chi Sox Diaries' Melissa Dickson posted this photo of her receipt for waiting on Cabrera at a Chili's in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on her Facebook page:

She tweeted about it, too:

It checks out: Cabrera went 1-for-4 in a rehab start for the Dunedin Blue Jays against the Port St. Lucie Mets on Friday night.

And while there's maybe some leeway for Cabrera, a Dominican, in the idea that the bill usually includes the tip in the Dominican Republic, Dickson's got a valid point about his eight years as an MLB player in the United States, and another about the millions of dollars the Blue Jays are paying him. (I'm hoping Cabrera paid for the whole table, because $77 is a ton to spend at Chili's, and would seem more or less impossible without a lot of Top Shelf Margs.)

Also, Mets minor league reliever Hamilton Bennett just got called up to Double-A Binghamton. So, sadly, we're not getting the surreal and hilarious possibility of Cabrera facing the boyfriend of the waitress he stiffed one day later on the mound.
