Former Baylor superstar and all-around badass Brittney Griner made her WNBA debut for the Phoenix Mercury last night, and she made quite the impression. Griner, who became known for her ability to dunk while at Baylor, threw down two dunks in her first game as a pro and became the first WNBA player in history to dunk twice in one game.
The first dunk, seen above, was a smooth one-handed jam that came at the end of a pick and roll. But it was the second dunk that was most impressive. Late in fourth quarter, Griner corralled a loose ball, broke toward the basket, and threw down a two-handed jam that left her swinging from the rim.
There have only been five dunks in WNBA regular-season history. That number will be a lot higher by the time Griner's career is done.
