Daniel Hudson hasn't pitched since June 26 of last year, when he had to have Tommy John surgery soon after being pulled less than two innings into a brutal start against the Braves. He's now had a setback of the worst kind:
Hudson, 26, had shown all sorts of promise before his injury. He threw 222 innings two years ago, with a WHIP of 1.203 and 169 strikeouts against just 50 walks. He was aiming to return later this season, but if he has to have surgery again, he might be lucky if he can pitch again before the end of next year.
