Erik Nunez, an acquaintance of Darren Sharper and possibly a former Saints employee, has been accused of sexually assaulting the same two women on the night Sharper allegedly assaulted them in the same New Orleans apartment. Nunez turned himself in Friday morning.
Nunez was accompanied by his attorney. He has been booked with two counts of aggravated rape. An NOPD spokesperson says he's accused of sexually assaulting two women in New Orleans last September.
At a Friday afternoon bond hearing, Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro said Nunez posed a flight risk. Magistrate judge Harry Cantrell then signed an order for Nunez to be held without bond.
Nunez's attorney (who you really should get a look at in this video) disputed his client's designation as a flight risk, but to no avail. The state successfully argued that his employment with the Saints posed a flight risk, even though the Saints claimed he was not an employee.
Another hearing is set for March 7th. Sharper turned himself in to the LAPD on Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued related to the same alleged incident on September 23rd.
