Sharper Indicted On Rape Charge In New Orleans; Possible New Victim

Darren Sharper and two acquaintances have been charged in a rape investigation in New Orleans. The case is one of several sexual assault cases involving Sharper that have been ongoing since earlier this year.

The others charged are Eric Nunez, a self-described "NFL promoter" who is accused of assaulting the same two women as Sharper in an incident from last September, and Brandon Licciardi, a St. Bernard Sheriff's deputy who proposed to his Saints cheerleader girlfriend at the 2010 Super Bowl. Licciardi's human trafficking charges come from accusations that he's accused of bringing the women to Sharper and Nunez, and Fox WVUE reports that the DA's office subpoenaed guest records and security footage linking Sharper and Licciardi to the Renaissance Hotel.

Sharper is charged with two counts of aggravated rape and one count of simple rape; Nunez is charged with two counts of aggravated rape and one count of obstruction of justice; Licciardi is charged with three counts of human trafficking, one count of aggravated rape, and one count of obstruction of justice. The third and seemingly new count of rape appears to involve an alleged victim that hadn't previously been reported.
