Tempers flared in the second inning with the first pitch of the at bat between Reno Aces (AZ) pitcher Mike Bolsinger and Albuquerque Isotopes (LA) shortstop Erisbel Arruebarrena. Bolsinger threw up and in and Arruebarrena had to duck out of the way, as the pitch hit his bat for a foul ball. Arruebarrena hit a three run homer for the Isotopes in Friday's 16-7 romp over the Aces and took his sweet time rounding the bases, so he correctly guessed he was thrown at. When he later struck out, the catcher, Blake Lalli, brushed him as he threw to third. Arruebarrena really did not like that. So he shoved the catcher—he was immediately ejected—and all hell broke loose.

The benches cleared, someone charged at Arruebarrena and he threw his helmet at him. Then Arruebarrena started running away from the scrum only to be blindside-tackled by another Reno Aces player. Everyone was throwing punches, some guys were standing up on the backstop, with only the netting keeping them out of the stands. It was wild.

The game was delayed nearly 30 minutes while the umpires sorted everything out. In all, ten people were ejected, including Aces manager and former Major Leaguer Phil Nevin. The Aces won 7-3 after they were blown out by the Isotopes 16-7 on Friday.
