In ESPN's words: "The Rangers become the first team in 10 years to play in back-to-back World Series." From a Google search which took .20 seconds to complete: An Oct. 22, 2009 story headlined, "They're back! Phillies advance to World Series for 2nd straight year."

There, there, ESPN. You're not alone. The Fox affiliate in Philadelphia Tweeted last night that "Texas takes #ALCS with big win over Detroit! First team to take two straight pennants since 1990." Which would be fine if the Yankees, Blue Jays, Braves and hometown Phillies all haven't taken two straight pennants since 1990.
