High School Football Team Wins Game By Scoring 19 Points In Final Minute

Minnesota’s Class 6A state quarterfinals featured one of the wildest endings to a football game you will ever see. Down 27-10 with 4:30 left to play against St. Michael-Albertville, Maple Grove capped off a 70-yard drive with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Curtis Haugen to Joe Raymon. That made it 27-16 with 59 seconds to play, and Maple Grove was just getting started.

Maple Grove followed the touchdown with a recovered onside kick, and on the very next play Haugen found Raymon down the left sideline for a 49-yard touchdown pass. That made it 27-22, and then came yet another recovered onside kick.

Maple Grove then needed just five plays to drive the ball to the one-yard line, at which point Evan Hull ran untouched into the end zone with four seconds left on the clock.

Maple Grove will now advance to the state semifinals, where they will face No. 1 ranked Eden Prairie on Thursday.
