Jets CB Dimitri Patterson Has Been Missing Since Friday

Jets cornerback Dimitri Patterson has been missing since Friday's game at MetLife Stadium against the Giants. He was present for meetings, a walk through, and the pre-game meal Friday, but was a no-show come game time. The Jets have not been able to speak with Patterson directly but his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has said he is fine, physically.

Patterson did not show up for practice today and both general manager John Idzik and Rex Ryan, who only heard Patterson was OK on Saturday, seem more perplexed than anything else.

"I'd like to speak to Dimitri," Idzik said. "Again, I don't want to speculate on anything until I have a direct conversation with anyone, much less the player, just to figure out what's going on. So we really don't know. We can only surmise and we don't want to speculate."

Ryan admitted he was "shocked" that Patterson hasn't shown up for work without any explanation.

"I still feel that way," Ryan said. "I'm not real comfortable talking about it until we talk to Dimitri and find out what's going on."

The Jets signed Patterson in April this year to a one-year, incentive-laden contract worth up to $3 million. Patterson saw some time in the first preseason game against the Colts, but did not play against the Bengals due to injuries. Idzik wouldn't say how, if at all, the issue would be resolved. He does not believe Patterson to be in any legal trouble.

According to Pro Football Talk, Rosenhaus said Patterson will return to the Jets today.
