Joel Embiid had the best game of his professional career last night, with 46 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 blocks. He’s the first player to put up that line (though the NBA only began counting blocks in 1973). The Sixers beat the Lakers, 115-109, in a game where they shot just 22 percent from three. Embiid was the difference.
But Embiid wasn’t done when the buzzer sounded. He did a post-game interview with Molly Sullivan, got interrupted by Kevin Hart and then answered the question: How was he feeling? He was coming off games of 46 and 32 points, and seems to be getting into shape.
His answer: “69 percent.” Ha ha! 69 is a funny number. I will update you in the future when Joel Embiid says 420, some other cool number, or something else funny.
