Malaga moved atop La Liga standings yesterday with a 3-2 victory over Getafe. The winning goal came in penalty time. Big deal for the whole side and for Júlio Baptista, the Brazilian who has played for Real Madrid, Arsenal and Roma.
Granted, Getafe's not exactly a collection of world beaters. They're in 16th, out of 20 teams in a league that really drops off after the Barca-and-Real tier. Yet, Pedro León may very well have topped him with a strike of his own in the 55th minute. Yeah, he's on loan from the latter half of that upper tier, and Malaga's reign will probably end when Barcelona plays the 20th-place team this afternoon, but still.
