Kendall Gill Remembers How He Learned Not To Trash Talk Michael Jordan

It’s kind of crazy that we’re still hearing new stories about Michael Jordan’s famously hyper-competitive streak this far past his playing career. Today, Kendall Gill posted a video of one particular incident when MJ got his revenge on him and Alonzo Mourning after the young ‘uns had the audacity to poke His Airness:

Here’s his caption to the post:

Me, Larry Johnson, and Alonzo Mourning were young upcoming guns in the league. We were feeling ourselves in this game because we were giving it to the Bulls. After this play our Wild oats quickly became shredded wheats!

Alonzo had just blocked 2 of the Bulls shots. We started talking smack. I could since MJ getting mad because We were matched up against each other. I didn’t give a crap though because I was young, dumb and didn’t know any better.

MJ back doored me out of the triangle offense and put Zo on his collection of posters. Lol. Moral of this story? Callin out the Devil is one thing. Facing him is another! Never tug on Superman’s cape unless you’re absolutely ready! Did you hear me Pacman?

We’re pretty sure the game in question was this Hornets home game on December 29, 1992. The two points he threw down on ‘Zo were just a couple of his 28 total points, which he complimented with 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the Bulls’ win. (Update: Nah, as RCCola pointed out in the comments, this isn’t from that game. It’s from the other one that season on December 15, 1992. The Bulls won by 15.) So yeah, it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do.
