What we watched: "Taxi Driver" was on for a while. But I wished it was "Dog Day Afternoon." At one point, I even requested "Bachelor Pad," because I'm holding out till Vienna snaps in a way that people haven't snapped on TV before. But then I realized they edit that shit well in advance, so if she took a chunk out of someone's neck, we'd never see it. ABC would make fucking sure of it. Defeats the purpose of presenting reality television not exactly as reality reality — we're long past that point — but as the reality created by putting a school of touched people on a televised gerbil wheel partially immersed in a puddle of vanity and syphilis. It's not like they drown in it; it just splashes around, getting on everyone and everything. Club soda gets most of it out, but it still leaves a faint stain.
So, I put "The Town" on. It was decent, and not just because Renner wears a T-shirt from the Irish Pub in A.C., which is a place I love, and a place I suspect will be just fine despite the storm surge which'll show up later today/tonight/tomorrow. Just is.
I watched a lot of Weather Channel, too, because it grabbed me yesterday morning. The UEFA Super Cup was awesome, too. But damn, this new Wake Up Deadspin format is confusing.
