Louisville’s earned its way to a top-five national ranking and a 19-2 conference record through the usual college baseball strong points: pitching, defense, and smart base running. Last night they completed a sweep of Wake Forest by using one of baseball’s most exciting plays: stealing home.
Here’s right fielder Corey Ray in the bottom of the ninth last night. Ray reached base on an intentional walk, moved to second on a single, and to third on a wild pitch. But it’s how he reached home—and won the game for the Cardinals—that draws our attention today.
