Packers 27, Lions 20: It was football the way they do it in the movies—snowing, between flagship NFL teams, announced by Al Michaels—but in the movies, the games aren't usually between one team that could use a win (but doesn't need it) and one team that dropped to 4-9 with the loss. You could be forgiven for tuning out on this one: Neither quarterback played great, Randall Cobb may have been the best individual performer with seven receptions for 102 yards, and it wasn't as close as the final score made it seem. Still, if there's one truism I've learned, it's that sometimes the most underwhelming games make for the best GIFs, starting with the gentleman above, who proves me all wrong about the potential for a cheesehead reality show. It'll be weird, and it might just be great.
Here, Matt Stafford runs in a score for the first points of the game, and more importantly, trips in a way that nearly seems like the beginning of a touchdown dance. Kudos to Stafford for almost making it look intentional:
One of the best plays of the game came on this one-handed grab by Kris Durham for 27 yards, snow-slicked football be damned:
And finally, a fat guy touchdown, the way they were meant to be: off a snow-aided Stafford fumble, by 6-0, 294 pound guy (DE Mike Daniels, in this case), initially unbalanced, and then, after way longer than it would take any other position player—including Casey Hayward, who can barely stop himself from running laps around Daniels as he rumbles downfield—triumphant:
