On to the Late Games

But first...how 'bout them Redskins! Getting back to business, we're blessed with five late games, and a couple of them don't even suck. Then there are the ones that feature the Dolphins, the Falcons, and the Niners. Regardless I'm giving them all the equal treatment (except for the Dolphins, because fuck them). Continue after the jump for all of the game updates, including the confirmation of a sinister presence residing in Denver. Silly Satan, don't you know Ed Hochuli could crush you like a kicker? New England vs. New York Jets- For all the talk about this game in the lead-up it sure has been pretty craptastic thus far. New England leads 6-3 in a battle of field goals, although both Favre and Cassel have played fairly well thus far. Randy Moss has just one catch for eight yards, so get ready for Boston fans to start calling him lazy and unmotivated. Fortunately they can still cheer for the other receiver guy. You know, the one that reminds them of Dustin Pedroia and the '86 Celtics? WELKAAAAAH! has four catches for 53 yards. Denver vs. San Diego- Jay Cutler is giving Phillip Rivers nothing to scream about this time around. The Broncos quarterback is lighting up the Chargers secondary with 165 yards passing and two touchdowns to Tony Scheffler. Brandon Marshall has made an impressive return to the lineup having accounted for four receptions and over 70 yards. And hey, Michael Pittman scored a touchdown. Wow, his arms certainly look a lot smaller than I remember. I'm willing to bet that his testicles are regrowing in inverse proportion. Damn it Fatsis, get back in the locker room and give us some answers! LaDanian is on the bench with LaToeInjury, but Sproles looked pretty good returning a kick for a touchdown. San Diego added another score just before the half on a long heave from Marmalard to Chris Chambers, but it looks like they may have left Denver with too much time. Seattle vs. San Francisco- I don't want to alarm anyone, but it appears that the Seahawks have lost a wide receiver to injury. Shortly after Logan Payne hauled in an 14 yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck the first year receiver looked to be in a considerable amount of pain. Even without a group of wide receivers that borders on respectability the Hass has led Seattle to a 20-13 lead over one of their division's tremendous cream puffs. Much of this is thanks to Julius Jones who has 52 yards rushing, including a touchdown. The defense accounted for the other score with a fumble return for a touchdown. J.T. O'Sucksmyballs has a touchdown of his own thanks to a lot of help from the refs. After a couple of nice calls he found Bryant Johnson for a short one. Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta- Michael Turner is facing a legitimate NFL defense and he's finding it quite a bit less fun than playing the Lions. Last week's breakout star is this week's definition of mediocrity, accumulating exactly 30 yards on 10 carries against the Bucs. Brian Griese hit John Gilmore for one touchdown while Warrick Dunn notched their other score. Yep, that's Tampa's offense. The Bucs lead 17-3. Arizona vs. Miami- The Cardinals have sliced through the Dolphin defense like a buzzsaw going through butter left out in the either of these temperate locales for an extended period of time. Larry Fitzgerald trotted down the field for 75 yards only to come up short of the endzone. The Buzzsaw settled for a Neil Rackers field goal because hey, they're still the Buzzsaw. On the other side of the field (not the Dolphins side, the other side of Arizona's offense) Anquan Boldin has caught two touchdowns from Kurt Warner.
