Victor Oladipo and Kyrie Irving treated everyone to an enthralling late-game duel tonight, combining for 20 points in the final two minutes of the game and swapping huge threes down the stretch. The Pacers trailed for the first 47 minutes of the game and struggled to stop Boston in the first half (Jayson Tatum got real feisty and nearly decapitated Domantas Sabonis with a big jam), but a huge fourth quarter from Oladipo got them right back into it.
Oladipo gave the Pacers a four-point cushion with 19 seconds left, and even after Irving slashed that to one with a three-pointer, all the Pacers theoretically had to do was make free throws. They didn’t even make it that far, thanks to an inexpicably lofty pass from Bojan Bogdanovic.
The Celtics became the first team to win a game this season after being down by five or more in the final 30 seconds. Nice one, Bojan.
