Petra Kvitova won her second Wimbledon and it didn't even take an hour. Kvitova demolished Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-0 today in Bouchard's—and Canada's—first appearance in a Wimbledon final. The point you see above is not match point, but representative of the Czech's dominance. Even when Bouchard seemingly had her on the ropes, Kvitova sliced a cross-court winner.
It took Kvitova 55 minutes to dismantle Bouchard and was even easier than her upset win in 2011, when she beat Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4. Kvitova broke Bouchard six times in a row and won the championship on a similar backhand cross.
Bouchard, the 13th (and soon-to-be seventh) ranked player in the world, had a pretty good run at the All England Club and earlier became the first Canadian woman to play in a Wimbledon quarterfinal. At today's final, she was also playing in front of her namesake Princess Eugenie, which is a good enough excuse to show this picture from the Royal Wedding a few years back and contemplate monarchism. She's in the less ridiculous hat.
