Kidd coached the Bucks to two first-round exits and one 33-49 campaign in his three and a half years at the helm. The Bucks really should be among the best teams in their conference, yet they’re eighth in the East with an utterly middling 23-22 record. Kidd’s middle school-ass defensive scheme was a huge failure, and the Bucks allow the sixth-most points per 100 possessions in the league despite having a roster full of huge, athletic guys who should be capable of forming a dominant defense. Giannis Antetokounmpo has turned into one of the very best players in the game under Kidd’s tutelage, but it still hasn’t made the Bucks any less mediocre.
