Sam Bradford had a great first week of the 2017 NFL season as he threw for 346 yards and three TDs in the Vikings’ 29-19 victory over the Saints. Then he bruised his knee, missed the next three weeks, returned, re-injured his knee in Week 5, had knee surgery in November, and didn’t play again.
Coming off that performance—the third time a knee injury has cost Bradford a large chunk of a season—Sam Bradford is ready to do what he does best: collect a big check.
Adam Schefter reports the Arizona Cardinals intend to sign Bradford to a one-year, $20 million contract with a team option for a second year at $20 million. The QB is guaranteed to get at least $15 million.
This comes off Bradford signing a two-year, $36 million contract with the Eagles in March of 2016; he was traded to Minnesota before that season began. Per Spotrac, he’s made $114 million since his career began in 2010, with at least $15 million more to come in 2018. He has never won more than seven games in a season.
And you know what? Good. It’s always nice to see the working man get paid.
