Ryan Howard is still chasing that baseball dream. The 2006 NL MVP signed a minor-league contract with the Colorado Rockies over the weekend, and was assigned to the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes.
In his second at-bat Sunday, Howard ripped one deep into right center field. It looked like a homer but fell just short. He ended up ambling into second with a double.
Howard went 1-for-6 with two strikeouts in his Isotopes debut, as the team beat the Fresno Grizzlies 22-1. If anything, Ryan Howard is an excellent good luck charm.
