Shelby Miller Loses No-Hitter With One Out To Go In The Ninth

MILLER-NO-HITTER-BROKEN-UP

Atlanta Braves starter Shelby Miller was having his way with the trash Miami Marlins on Sunday, mowing through Miami’s lineup with a no-hitter through 8 and 2/3 innings.

Miller needed one last out to complete the no-no in the bottom of the ninth, but then pinch hitter Justin Bour wasted everyone’s time by hitting a single back up the middle. Then Dee Gordon hit another single right after Bour, ensuring that no one would ever remember this May baseball game between two middling NL East teams and making us question why we even cared in the first place.

The Marlins narrowly avoided being on the losing end of the last two no-hitters in the MLB. The Braves won 6-0.
