Singer Of National Anthem Forgets Words, Powers Ahead Anyhow

Listening to this instantly immortal rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," I'm reminded of Kevin Kline's character in "A Fish Called Wanda," who after receiving any sort of instruction always had to ask, "What was the part in the middle?"

Here's how tipster Andy described the scene in the YouTube classic above:

Tonight at the Memorial Cup (Canada's National Junior Hockey Tournament) featured the Halifax Mooseheads vs the Portland Winterhawks and 3 of the top draft eligible players in their first game of the tournament.

Anyways, the best part is that some local canadian female anthem singer had to do both the Canadian and American anthems and BUTCHERED the American anthem, forgot words, made up words, sang words in the wrong places.

This is every American's nightmare. In Canada, though, the crowd is less than surprised. They can't really sing it, either, to help our absent-minded performer — hell, it's kind of a tough song. She is left to improvise, and "A Star-Mangled Banner" is born. Land of the free, home of the brave, play hockey.
