Steph Curry Suffers Sprained Knee, Warriors Set Three-Point Shooting Record Anyway

The Warriors were counting on the MVP to make a showing in Game 4 against the Rockets, after sitting the previous two games and change with a right ankle injury. In the first half, though, Stephen Curry slipped in a wet patch on the floor, turned out his left ankle, made some horrific-looking angles out of the bottom half of his body, and rolled over clutching his right knee.

All but the most hardened orthopedists should turn away from this gif.

Curry tried getting back on the floor in the second half, then thought, nah. The Warriors, fortunately, are playing the Houston Rockets, who aren’t so much bad as sort of spaced-out, and went on to stomp ‘em but good. Even with Curry shooting only 1-of-7 on threes before he left, Golden State set an NBA playoff record for three-pointers made, with 21 treys (on 31 non-Curry shots). Expect Curry to get some rest, with the Warriors now up three games to one.
