After sitting out his team’s first 18 games while the school investigated the “financial picture” around his vehicle, five-star freshman forward Billy Preston is leaving Kansas and going to Bosnia, where he’s signed a contract with BC Igokea.
Preston was suspended for Kansas’s first game when he missed class and a curfew. For the next game against Kentucky, the school announced he wouldn’t play after he was involved in a single-vehicle car crash with no injuries. The school said they “needed a clearer financial picture specific to the vehicle,” and that they would hold out Preston until their review is complete. Preston hasn’t played since, and now, he’ll never play in a Jayhawks uniform.
According to BC Igokea, Preston’s contract lasts for the rest of the current season, which means he’ll likely just play in a handful of games (at most) before presumably declaring for the NBA Draft in April.
