The NBA Is Not A Cause

The NBA returned this week, and while I periodically enjoy a glance at regular season basketball here and there, as any sane man would, basketbloggers treated that shit like First Contact happening on Christmas. Given the evils of the NFL, it’s very very easy to cast the NBA in a heroic light. It’s “The Good League,” where players have some measure of power, and coaches like Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr actually have progressive viewpoints. But as someone who enjoys turding up the punch bowl three times day, lemme cool off you hoopsters for a moment. That league is still a multibillion-dollar conglomerate, and you should be REAL careful about putting any sort of political faith in it. THAT is the subject of this week’s Deadcast.

Oh, but you say, is there more? Why yes, there is. Marchman and I also talk about bad Hollywood men, the Warriors, and we answer YOUR Funbag questions about Vortex footballs, Bills fans, meat slicers, and more. Here’s one very special PUPPET dramatization, courtesy of our crack video team:

Wait, the NBA Is Back?
