It’s Super Bowl week and Tom Brady will ignore all off-the-field distractions. Almost. This morning, during his weekly appearance on a WEEI radio show featuring people who have repeatedly accused Adam Jones of fabricating the racist incidents he said he experienced in Boston, called Erin Andrews a “gutless bitch,” and said whatever this is, Brady decided that WEEI personality Alex Reimer had gone a step too far when he said Brady’s 5-year-old daughter was “being an annoying little pissant” during one scene in one episode of Brady’s new documentary series. Per NESN:
“Well, I think that — I’ve tried to come on this show for many years and have showed you guys a lot of respect,” Brady said. “I’ve always tried to come on and do a good job for you guys, so it’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. But my daughter or any child, they certainly don’t deserve that.”
Co-host Kirk Minihane apologized to Brady and said he understood the QB’s disappointment.
Here was Brady’s response: “I’ll obviously evaluate whether I want to come on this show again, so I really don’t have much to say this morning. So, maybe I’ll speak with you guys some other time.”
The pissant comment was made last Thursday. Here’s the tape:
WEEI announced on Friday that Reimer has been suspended indefinitely, so I guess we now know what it takes for a WEEI host to cross the line. Either way, the worst part of the entire clip is definitely Mike Mutnansky saying they were going to talk about the documentary for “over two hours.”
