UCLA commit Sosa Jamabo was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, minor consumption of alcohol and minor in possession of alcohol, according to The Dallas Morning News.
He was also booked for speeding, driving without possessing a driver’s license and disregarding a stop sign.
Jamabo, 18, was a highly-sought recruit for the class of 2015. He was ranked as the 22nd overall player in the class by Rivals.com, which also had him as the fourth-best running back. He committed to the Bruins in February over Texas and Notre Dame.
He was arrested in Texas, where he starred on the Plano West High School football and basketball teams.
According to The Morning News, Jamabo appears to have been arrested after his senior prom:
Jamabo may have been at Plano West’s senior prom earlier in the night. A photo uploaded to Twitter around 6 p.m. Saturday shows Jamabo in a suit posing with a date who’s wearing a long gown. She wrote it was “prom.” Jamabo retweeted the photo.
Jamabo, whose legal name is Sotonye Josiah Jamabo, was still in jail as of Sunday morning.
