Auburn lost to Ole Miss on a walk-off home run in the 13th inning Friday night on a pitch that was supposed to be the first of four intentional balls. Unfortunately, Auburn's Jay Wade threw an unintentional meatball down the middle of the plate and Ole Miss won 8-5.
"He tried to sneak one by me, and I just tried to hit it as hard and as far as I could," Anderson said.
Said coach Mike Bianco: "That was spectacular."
With two men on and the score tied at five, the Tigers decided to put Austin Anderson on first base, which was open. After all, with a force at every bag, bases loaded with no outs in the 13th is not the worst position a team can find itself in. Here is further proof.
