On average, today's NFL player's career lasts 3.5 years and makes $6.7 million over that career - with no health benefits. Or take it back 30 years when players made $200,000/year. Medical bills alone could bankrupt an NFL retiree. That money becomes quite useless if you cant enjoy it because of complications to CTE. Read more
